NORTH AMERICAN BACKBONE STATUS OF ECHOLIST CONFERENCE CHANGES BACKSTAT.NA 31 May 1998 BACKSTAT.NA is a weekly status report prepared by the North American Backbone. It is distributed in the BACKBONE file echo, and posted in the Z1_BACKBONE echo. It summarizes BACKBONE.NA and BACKBONE.NO additions, deletions and requests, as well as North American Backbone contacts. The daily status of echo addition requests may be obtained automatically by sending either a 1. file request to the Backbone Robot Keeper, Magic Name = STATUS or 2. netmail to 'Backbone' at the same address with subject of 'Status'. Help with using the Backbone request software may be obtained in the same ways, using 'Help' instead of 'Status'. The steps to take to add a new echo to the Backbone's echo distribution are listed in the current copy of BOFAQ (North American Backbone Frequently Asked Questions and HELP file). BACKBONE.NA is the primary Backbone echo listing. BACKBONE.NO is a secondary list of Backbone echoes but carried on a temporary basis either because they are no longer in the Elist, or because they have low traffic.
